I started of by placing the image into photoshop,I wanted to make the background black as this is always easier to work with in general, I did this with the selection tool.

I then used the refine edge brush to select the parts that I wanted to pick up on such as the finer details being the whispy hair etc.

I then placed this onto a black background in an a3 document, then stretched the image to fit nicely.

Insuring this was a nice quality image I changed the display view.

I tried placing text over the images but this proved very distracting and did not look clear enough for my liking, I then came up with the idea of cutting the image in half and using just half the face with the text of the other side.

I covered half the image on a new layer with a black layer with the margue tool.

I actually thought this worked really nicely although I felt as it might look good to see some of the picture there for I the font and cut it out there for cutting a hole in the back layer (the black part) and showing some of the image through.

this was the outcome although I wasn’t happy with how some of the letters came out, Like the first part of the first word was not very clear because it had a very dark part of the image was behind the text there fore using the dodge tool I lightened parts up to make it more clear, I am happy with this outcome.
